Connect ownCloud to a Project

OwnCloud is an open-source, universal file access platform that is self-hosted on your servers. You can link your ownCloud instance to your OSF project or component to see files stored there alongside files stored on OSF Storage or other storage providers.

Files added to ownCloud will be accessible via OSF; likewise, files added to ownCloud via OSF will be accessible on your ownCloud instance.

The ownCloud add-on allows you to connect external content to OSF. This connection does not store or back up this content on OSF. To back up your content to OSF Storage, consider Registering Your Project.

  1. Enable OwnCloud In Your Project
  2. Configure OwnCloud
  3. Select A Folder

1. Enable ownCloud in your project

First, open your project, then click the Add-ons tab in the navigation bar.

You will be taken to the "Add-ons" page for the project.

In the list of add-ons, click the Enable link next to ownCloud.

The ownCloud terms will appear.

Read the terms, then click the Confirm button.

2. Configure ownCloud

Find ownCloud in the "Configure Add-ons" section, then click the Connect Account link.

The "Connect an ownCloud Account" modal will appear.

Enter your host URL, username, and password into the respective fields, then click Save.

Your ownCloud folders will be imported into your project.

3. Select a folder

Next, select a folder from the list, then click Save.

Your ownCloud folder will be connected to your project.
